Recently, I attempted to write a silly poem for the Swing Machine. However, the only thing I could come up with is a serious love poem. It is a poem about one's lack of love at that specific moment. The character of the poem challenges the subject of the poem to a test of her affection. She fails, and he feels unloved. Well, I will allow you to read for yourself.

Watermelon
By Matthew J. Heayn

If you loved me,
You would buy me a watermelon
You would go to the store --
You would go out in the cold
and buy me a friggin' watermelon.

Buy me a watermelon, you ass!
Screw you;
You don't love me!

As you can see, this poem is not silly at all, but is rather serious. I am entirely sorry for that face.

Matthew J. Heayn is an ass. He did not buy the watermelon. In fact, he has nobody for which he can purchase a watermelon. He is a lonely history major at Temple University. Ladies, he is single.
