Once there was a glum little Quadropod called Suki Suki who lived in the sea. He was sad because he only had four appendages, and none of the octopus children would play with him. They would swim around Suki Suki and laugh, "Hah hah! What a silly octopus! He is missing half his arms! Where are your arms, Suki Suki? Did you stick them up your butt? Hah hah!" This made Suki Suki even sadder. He wanted to be like the octopi, but he knew that somehow he was different. One day, after the cruel octopus children tied up his arms and tried to feed him to a shark as a practical joke, Suki Suki darted away into a distant part of the ocean. It was a part of the ocean that he had never seen before. He came upon a strange and beautiful coral reef with a hundred different kinds of mystical sea-plants and fish all about. Wandering his way deeper into the reef, he found a tremendous sea urchin, who was the size of Godzilla! It was sleeping. Suki Suki was so scared that he began to cry. If the mean octopus children had been there to see him cry they probably would have danced the Octopus circle dance around him and then made him eat a blowfish, because they loved to see him cry. But the only other being there was the Godzilla urchin, and it was woken up by Suki Suki's uncontrolled sobs. "Why do you cry, ugly Octopus?" asked the Godzilla urchin. Suki Suki looked up and continued to cry. "What is the matter? Where are your arms?" inquired the Godzilla urchin. Suki Suki kept crying and crying. "Did you stick them up your butt?" questioned the Godzilla urchin. "Shut up!" Suki Suki commanded. "Shut up before I stick your own stupid Godzilla head up your idiot urchin butt!" This made the Godzilla urchin laugh a hearty laugh. "Hah hah little one! I know what you are. You are a quadropod! There are very few quadropods in the sea. In fact, I thought your species had all been tied up and eaten by sharks. Tell me, what is your name, little quadropod?" "Suki Suki," he whimpered pitifully, wiping away his tears. "Well, Suki Suki, today is your lucky day! I have been waiting for a little one such as you." "You mean I get four more arms?" Suki Suki asked hopefully. "No..." replied the Godzilla urchin, "you get a cookie." Suki Suki reeled in disappointment. "But it's not just any cookie; it's the Enchanted Snickerdoodle." Suki suki banged his head against the sea floor. "What in Poseidon's name is the Enchanted Snickerdoodle?!" Suki Suki demanded. "And more specifically, how will it get me more arms?" "The Enchanted Snickerdoodle is a very special snickerdoodle, boy! It is not to be taken for granted. You will take this Snickerdoodle and learn how to use its power wisely! And from now on, your name shall be Suki Suki Jawa (because Jawa means 'with Snickerdoodle') the Enchanted Quadropod!" "Gee thanks." And that is the story of how Suki Suki Jawa came upon the Enchanted Snickerdoodle and became the Enchanted Quadropod. Since then, Suki Suki Jawa has learned the power of the Snickerdoodle. Every year on December 26, all the children of the world who believe in the legend of Suki Suki Jawa the Enchanted Quadropod create little oragami Suki Suki Jawa's and leave them next to their shoes at night. Then, at midnight, Suki Suki Jawa visits every single one of the children. The next morning, when the children reach into their oragami quadropods, if they have been good, they pull out a delicious snickerdoodle. If they have been bad, Suki Suki Jawa sucks in their entire arm, bites it off, and saves it for one of his own. Over the years, Suki Suki Jawa has given out many delicious snickerdoodles and collected many delectable arms from children all over the world. You can make your own oragami Suki Suki Jawa! Just follow the directions below and make sure to leave it by your shoes on the night of December 26. And be on your best behavior, lest you lose an arm to the wrath of Suki Suki Jawa the Enchanted Quadropod and his magical cookie, the Enchanted Snickerdoodle! |
